Library cards for Greenville County residents are valid for a two year period. When the two year period has expired, a card may be renewed, provided the information related to the user's account is updated in the Library's database. Borrowers must pay all outstanding fines and fees to update their cards. A user must present his/her Library card, a photo ID and a proof of residence (if necessary) at any branch in order to update the account. Cards must be renewed in person-they cannot be renewed over the phone or online.

Reciprocal, Computer User and Non-Resident Cards must be renewed annually and Temporary cards must be renewed every 90 days.

If the card is expired, the user will be unable to check out books, access downloadable content such as Ebooks, or use or reserve meeting or study rooms.
