The Library charges a fee of $1.00 to help defray the cost of postage for each physical item borrowed from another library system on behalf of an individual patron, and must be paid upon pickup of the item. There is no charge if the Library is unable to borrow a requested item through ILL.

Some libraries charge a fee to lend their materials or to provide copies of articles. If you are willing to pay additional money to borrow an item or obtain a photocopied article, please indicate the maximum amount you are willing to pay when communicating your request to a Library staff member or when completing the "Lending Library Fee" field of the online Interlibrary Loan Request Form.

The Library assesses an overdue fine of $1.00 per day per item, up to a maximum of $10.00 per item, for overdue materials borrowed from another library system. There is no grace period for overdue ILL items.

Any fines and/or fees charged by the lending library to the Greenville County Library System, including fees for lost or damaged items, are charged to the account of the patron for whom the material is borrowed.

To place an interlibrary loan request, please visit the Can't Find It page of the Library's website, or call the Reference Department at the Hughes Main Library (864-527-9258) or any of our other library locations for assistance.
